Willows Reprints of John Wisden’s Cricketers’ Almanack for 1864 to 1878 (Boxed Set)
First to Fifteenth Editions
We are delighted to announce the publication of a boxed set of Willows reprints for the first 15 years of John Wisden’s Cricketers’ Almanack. This publication marks the 150th edition of the Almanack in 2013 and the boxed set has been limited to 150 numbered copies.
Each volume is a precise facsimile of the original. 1864 to 1877 have faded pink wrappers and 1878 has light yellow wrappers. The books are bound in tan cloth with gilt embossing on the front, rear and spine and cream end papers between the binding and the wrappers.
The presentation box is bound in the same tan cloth with gilt embossing and a tan cloth sheath that slips over the box. The box has been designed as a free standing unit to allow the books to be displayed in a variety of different settings.
This boxed set has been produced in response to considerable interest from collectors, who have built up collections of Wisdens, often using Willows reprints for the early years from 1879 onwards. The presentation of the books in this set is identical to all Willows Wisden reprints from 1879 to 1895, providing a continuity of style that will grace any bookshelf!
